I've done this thread in a few other RPGs! Here you can put fanmixes, lyrics to a song that fits your character or RP (with or without commentary), a youtube video, anything that inspires you in RP or you think fits the story, music-wise! Perhaps to start it off, I should ask you guys to post something to do with the reply to the IC survey question: What's your favorite song? --- In the survey, Usagi answered anything by Minako! So here's her fave! What did your character answer?

Mako answered "C'est La Vie" as her favorite song. I'm thinking she was very tired when she made this selection. ;D

I thought this fit poor Mamoru and his feelings right now! Posting the video and the lyrics.
Scandal - Queen
Scandal - now you've left me all the world's gonna know Scandal - they're gonna turn our lives into a freak show They'll see the heart ache, they'll see the love break They'll hear me pleading, we'll say for God's sake Over and over and over again
Scandal - now you've left me there's no healing the wounds Hey scandal - and all the world can make us out to be fools Here come the bad news, open the flood gates They'll leave us bleeding, we'll say you cheapskates Over and over and over again
So let them know when they stare it's just a private affair They'll have us hung in the air and tell me what do they care It's only a life to be twisted and broken They'll see the heart ache, they'll see our love break - yeah They'll hear me pleading, I'll say for God's sake Over and over and over and over again
Scandal scandal
Scandal Scandal yes you're breaking my heart again Scandal yes you're loving on out again
Today the headlines tomorrow hard times And no-one ever really knows the truth from the lies And in the end the story deeper must hide Deeper and deeper and deeper inside
Scandal scandal Scandal scandal
Couldn't resist posting the video, especially as the singer dances over a stage made to look like a newspaper with the words 'royal exclusive' on the front LOL.

(Not sure I've gotten this right... as the code).
This song seems perfect to me for a sound track to the Fall of the SilMil.

I've had this on repeat during the entirety of the Rendezvous thread. It's all choral and dramatic and suspenseful but also joyful (for Neph) in its own way. Download here!

We are the Crystal Tokyo Press Corps. We bring you the sordid, the absurd, the dirty, nitty-gritty, and gory, and you bring us your newly minted New Earth currency. Ostensibly we say there's a difference between the journalist and the paparazzo, the serious propaganda news and the gossip, but, hey! TMZ and CNN are both owned by Time Warner!
We are the Fourth Estate, the guardians of truth and information-- some of which we guard too well in the shape of our biases and own agenda. We'll tell you the facts-- the ones we like, at least. The masses need our discernment for their daily diet of reality. Some try to hold us to a higher standard-- but we can't hear them from our ivory tower. We are the Crystal Tokyo Press Corps, and if it bleeds, it leads. Welcome to our saturnalia of sensationalism! 1: The News - Jack Johnson Lyrics: Why don't the newscasters cry when they read about people who die? At least they could be decent enough to put just a tear in their eyes Mama said It's just make believe You can't believe everything you see... Commentary: N/A 2: Fame < Infamy - Fall Out Boy Lyrics: And you pull my head so close volume goes with the truth Signing off "I’m alright in bed but I’m better with a pen" The kid was alright but it went to his head
I am God’s gift but why would he bless me with Such wit without a conscience equipped Commentary: I think the title is pretty self-explanatory for this one-- but this section of lyrics goes right to the heart of the matter. 'Wit without a conscience' and 'I'm alright in bed but I'm better with a pen' describe your average CTPC journo perfectly. 3: Smile for the Paparazzi - Cobra Starship Lyrics: Hear hear! Now you're famous but do you know the price you pay? I hope that ain't contagious 'cause I ain't gonna live that way. Thank you, no... Commentary: I'm sure all of the senshi and Mamoru, among others, would love to opt out of the fame! 4: Paparazzi - JParis Lyrics:There's something wrong here There's something not quite clear Up in the club and I'm almost famous They don't know what my name is 'Cause I'm not on the A-List And it's a shame that I'm blaming my agent Who hired my publicist The one who's got me up to a stunt like this I wish that they'd harass me Right now they just walk past me I want to become a first-class celebrity!
If I did Paris on the terrace would that change my simple life?
Hey paparazzi! I think you forgot me! I'm not here to walk in the dark half naked! Get your picture taken, I promise to fake it! Maybe I'll make it! Hey paparazzi!
What does it take to get your attention? Commentary: Bwahahahaha! This is Mayu's theme song, right down to walk in the dark half-naked! The failing actress who hit up Mamoru just to get into the tabloids-- this is for you, honey! 5: The New York Times - Everclear Lyrics: Oh, It makes no sense to me Yeah, I was living in a different world when I heard the news I keep having the same bad dream And it makes me want to hurt all the people who have done this thing to you
When I see your face, I can see you smile Read all about you in the New York Times When I see your eyes, I can see your light When I think about what happened It makes me crazy
It makes no sense to me, This eye for an eye thing, It has gone too far I don't know anyone who doesn't hurt inside I would like to believe we could learn from this And maybe some day we can make things right -- I really want to believe I can make things right I want to believe I can learn to feel alright inside I want to believe I can learn to make things right Commentary: This reminded me of Mamoru and his having to see the suitors on the news, and his internal struggle with hiding his feelings, as written out so well by Jen. Poor Mamoru... 6: The Only Difference Between Martyrdom and Suicide is Press Coverage - Panic! at the Disco Lyrics: Swear to shake it up, if you swear to listen Oh, we're still so young, desperate for attention I aim to be your eyes, trophy boys, trophy wives
Swear to shake it up, you swear to listen Swear to shake it up, you swear to listen Commentary: This song has a place on this Soundtrack if only for the title-- which is so true in its own right! The lyrics have quite a bit to say as well, and it has a great beat! 7: Mr. Writer - Stereophonics Lyrics: A re you so lonely? Don't even know me But you'd like to stone me
Mr Writer, why don't you tell it like it is? Why don't you tell it like it really is? Commentary: Explains itself pretty well-- though there's another lyric in this song that makes me think explicitly of Mamoru. Listen to it and tell me if you get the same impression. 8: Paparazzi - Lady Gaga Lyrics: Backstage at your show Velvet ropes and guitars Yeah cause you'll know I'm staring between the sets Eyeliner and cigarettes
Shadow is burnt Yellow dance and return My lashes are dry But with teardrops I cry It don't have a price Loving you is cherry pie 'Cause you know that baby I
I'm your biggest fan I'll follow you until you love me Papa-paparazzi Baby there's no other superstar You know that I'll be your Papa-paparazzi Commentary: An ode for Minako's fans! 9: My Life, Your Entertainment - T.I. Lyrics: See I don't think it would even matter (to me) Working a nine to five would be better I mean be honest, would you care to gossip about me Not likely I guess that's just the way that it goes (the way that it goes) ('Cause I know) See I can be somewhere out keeping it cool (And get told) Almost anything instead of the truth Y'all know more than I do, it's breaking news to me too Easy killer y'all know that ain't how I move (ooh) He said and she said (what) I did what, with they (who) No not me I said (not me) -- Flashing lights can blind your eyesight To when you can't see what's wrong from right Well shorty 'til you walk a mile in my shoes And understand this is who I am -- Life can be such a blur, obviously we prefer Our privacy but instead we endure Yes sir, don't expect nothin' less of me 'Cause this goin' probably be this way until the death of me -- And yo, we doin' just fine, and the time's just flyin' Live one headline at a time
My life, your entertainment You watch it while I live it (live it) I walk they follow (ay) I talk they holla (ay) Just here for your amusement My life, your entertainment You watch it while I live it (live it) You waitin' for me to lose it I guess I'm just here for your amusement Commentary: N/A 10: Paparazzi - DJ Fatha Julz Lyrics: Paparazzi, Get out...out of my life You better watch out for the paparazzi, watch out for the paparazzi Commentary: N/A 11: Fly on the Wall - Miley Cyrus Lyrics: Don't you wish that you could be a fly on the wall? A creepy little sneaky little fly on the wall? All my precious secrets, yeah, you'd know them all Don't you wish that you could be a fly on the wall? Commentary: I was googling for media songs when I had about 10 tracks on the playlist, and this one popped up-- apparently the artist said it dealt with the media, though the full song also seems to be about a distrustful guy... >_> But it has a great beat and the chorus works, so it's here! 12: Kill the Lights - Britney Spears Lyrics: Mr. Photographer I think I'm ready for my close-up (tonight) Make sure you catch me from my good side (pick one!) These other (HA) just wanna be me Is that money in your pocket? Or you happy to see me?
Kill the Lights! (Take 'em out, turn 'em off, break 'em down) Kill the Lights! (Don't be scared, make a move, see me now?) Kill the Lights! (I've seen you, watching me, watching you) Kill the Lights! You can't handle the truth What happened to you? Commentary: ;D 13: Paparazzi - The Monkey Face Lyrics: Celebrity you know can’t forget me I’m Paparazzi I’m the one who takes your photo for free Take your picture, make a story Then I’ll sell it to E Grab the cash, build my stash The money shots all I need Commentary: N/A 14: Slow News Day - Terri Clark Lyrics: Lately I pray for a slow news day 'Cause everything goods not bad enough for the front page For every ten we lose we only hear of one that's saved Sometimes I wanna hide away and pray For a slow news day
People are still good that I always will belive But these days it feels like everyone could use a little peace Living in a world that filled with fear and worry It might be time for us to hear a different story Commentary: I think this one fits Usagi. 15: Dirty Laundry - Don Henley Lyrics: I make my living off the evening news Just give me something-something I can use People love it when you lose, They love dirty laundry -- We got the bubble-headed-bleach-blonde who Comes on at five She can tell you 'bout the plane crash with a gleam In her eye It's interesting when people die! Give us dirty laundry
Can we film the operation? Is the head dead yet? You know, the boys in the newsroom got a Running bet Get the widow on the set! We need dirty laundry
You don't really need to find out what's going on You don't really want to know just how far it's gone Just leave well enough alone Eat your dirty laundry -- We can do the innuendo We can dance and sing When it's said and done we haven't told you a thing We all know that crap is king Give us dirty laundry! Commentary: Another one where the lyrics speak for themselves. 16: News of the World - The Jam Lyrics: Look at the pictures taken by the cameras they cannot lie The truth is in what you see - not what you read Little men tapping things out - points of view Remember their views are not the gospel truth Commentary: N/A 17: End of the World News (Dose Me Up) - Tom McRae Lyrics: So dose me up once is not enough I can still see the ground And from this high rise view looking down on you I'm not the one wasting my time
This is the end of the world news Commentary: These lyrics are cryptic. Use your imagination.

Honest Questions - Daniel Bedingfield Listen hereI thought this fit Usagi's feelings at the moment... Can you see The honest questions in my heart this hour I am opening like a flower To the rain And do you know the silent sorrows of a Never ending journey through the pain Do you see a brighter day for me Another day A day Do you wonder whats in store for me The cure for me The way Oh look down and see the tears I've cried The lives I've lived The deaths I've died Would you die them too And all for me (You say) I will pour the water down upon a thirsty barron land And streams will flow From the dust of your bruised and broken soul And you will grow like the grass Upon the fertile plains of Asia by the streams Of living water you will grow Oh.. you will grow Do you know The story from the start And do you know me Like you've always told me Do you see the whispers in my heart against your kindness My eternal blindness Do you see... Do you see a brighter day for me Another day A day Do you wonder whats in store for me The cure for me The way Oh look down and see the tears I've cried The lives I've lived The deaths I've died Would you die them too And all for me (You say) I will pour the water down upon a thirsty barron land And streams will flow From the dust of your bruised and broken soul And you will grow like the grass Upon the fertile plains of Asia by the streams Of living water you will grow Oh.. I will pour the water down upon the thirsty barron land And streams will flow From the dust of your bruised and broken soul And you will grow like the grass Upon the fertile plains of Asia by the streams Of living water you will grow Oh.. you will grow

This song sort of makes me think of pre-awakened Nate.
Carolina Liar - Show me what I'm looking for
Wait, I'm wrong Should have done better than this Please, I'll be strong I'm finding it hard to resist So show me what I'm looking for
CHORUS Save me, I'm lost Oh lord, I've been waiting for you I'll pay any cost Save me from being confused Show me what I'm looking for Show me what I'm looking for…oh lord
Don't let go I've wanted this far too long Mistakes become regrets I've learned to love abuse Please show me what I'm looking for
CHORUS Save me, I'm lost Oh lord, I've been waiting for you I'll pay any cost Save me from being confused Show me what I'm looking for Show me what I'm looking for…oh lord
Show me what I'm looking for Show me what I'm looking for Show me what I'm looking for
CHORUS Save me, I'm lost Oh lord, I've been waiting for you I'll pay any cost Just save me from being confused Wait, I'm wrong I can't do better than this I'll pay any cost Save me from being confused Show me what I'm looking for Show me what I'm looking for Show me what I'm looking for Show me what I'm looking for…oh lord
