His hobbies include reading, chemistry, law, and video games. Motoki has a rare gift for video games and can master most games in a few days. His talents were put to good use at his job in the arcade, and he even competed and won a few competitions. Motoki isn't big into sports, but he does enjoy running and tennis.

While in college, Motoki also dated a girl named Nishimura Reika, who also attended KO University.
Upon graduation from school, Motoki's life took him in a different direction than Mamoru's, however they managed to maintained their friendship. Motoki took a job working at a Chemical Plant Nippon Shokubai in Osaka, moving away from both Mamoru and his girlfriend. After a year, he was unhappy. He didn't enjoy working inside chemical facilities and he missed his friends, family, and girlfriend. In his loneliness, he started drinking too much, and nearly got fired from work due to alcohol consumption. Motoki decided he needed a change, and quit his job. He returned to school in Tokyo to become a lawyer with intent to represent the chemical industry. Three years later, he graduated with honors. Motoki then married Reiko and took a job working for a firm in Tokyo. He loves his job, is happy with his life, but he still struggles with using alcohol to cover up the times when he or Reika travel for their jobs, leaving him by himself.
