Ami took a sip of her tea. They all deserved a vacation, but she knew her own would be rather late in coming, but as much as she missed spending time with the girls and some other things, she truly loved helping people, and was, therefore, content with her residency, even if she sometimes thought it would never end.
She smiled to Helios warmly as she set the tea back down. She had not been trying to ignore him, but had just been so overjoyed to get a moment or two with the girls. "It's good to see you as well, Helios." She glanced to his suitcase, "Did you just get here?"

Makoto smiled at Helios as he sat down. It had indeed been years since she'd last seen him and it was nice to have yet another familiar face around the new palace.
She re-adjusted herself to sit "indian style" and again reached for her tea, the warmth of the cup heating her slender fingers. She took a drink, letting the warm liquid soothe her soul. The scene before her was just the calm she was looking for. Good friends, good conversation. She grinned to herself and relaxed, perfectly content to just listen to the others talk.

Rei poured another cup for Helios and then once more returned the pot to its post. Fingers curling around the warm wood of the cup, she listened as the others spoke. There was a soft breeze coming in from the window now, further promise of the storm on the horizon. Rei looked to the windows and the clouds beyond, considering. "It is a relief, actually," Rei smiled, "Though I had to become a little... unpleasant in order for it to be so." Her comment was to Makoto of course, a reply to what she had asked earlier.
After a thought, the fire senshi frowned, "Do not tell me that they are still giving you troubles with the construction?"

Makoto closed her eyes and took in the scent of the breeze that entered the room. Rain, she thought, and lots of it. She could taste it on the wind, and was just starting to feel the tingles of energy from an approaching storm. She smiled to herself. Nothing would suit her better than a good thunderstorm.
She heard Rei speak up and snapped out of her reverie to listen. She chuckled at what Rei had said, remembering that the two of them could be quite similar when it came to getting things done their way. Makoto let out a sigh and nodded in response to Rei's question. "This thing is so close to being finished, yet I continue to find myself walking the proverbial 'one step forward, two steps back'. As soon as one thing is up and running, two more break. This morning I had faucets leaking, light fixtures flickering and gas lines that weren't properly connected. Unpleasant doesn't even begin to describe my reaction towards the construction manager." She laughed, "At least I only used words rather than pounding the man into the ground, which to tell you the truth is something I actually contemplated." She took another sip of tea then said, "They've got one more week, let's hope they get it right this time..." she winked, "...or else."
Makoto finished off what was left of her tea and set the cup back onto the table. "Rei-chan your tea was delicious as usual. Thank you very much" she said with a smile. She stretched, then rose. "I suppose I'd best be on my way. I'd like to check on my garden and throw down some fertilizer before it rains" she gestured with her thumb towards the window and winked.
"Ami-chan, Helios, it was wonderful seeing the two of you again. I hope to see you both around the palace more often." She bowed then headed for the door. She smiled and waved as she headed down the steps and made her way back towards the palace gardens, continuing to take in the scent of the rain that floated along the breeze. Yup, it's gonna be a good day.

Ami smiled warmly to Makoto, her own eyes twinkling a bit at the mention of rain. "I hope you have no more problems with the kitchen, Mako-chan." She was a bit jealous, but only a tiny touch, that the other two had time to make sure their domains were perfect, but she did not envy them the hassles at all.
"As often as I can be. Some nights, I have to admit, I just slip in and go straight to my own quarters and my bed." Actually since on those nights she tended to fall asleep from sheer exhaustion pretty quickly, that was not necessarily a bad thing. "Once I finish and am running the medical wing, I'll be around so much you guys won't know what to do with me." She winked.
"It was good to see you, Mako-chan. Have a good day."
