"I suppose not," Alex agreed with a chuckle. The waltz was coming to an end, and he was lucky enough to get a huge compliment from the queen. As the music died, he released her slowly, almost reluctantly, and took a step back to bow deeply. "And I, you, My Lady."
It was probably presumptuous of him, but he found himself very lightly taking her hand as he stood and brushing the back of her knuckles against his lips. He met her eyes--by god were they blue--and smiled faintly. "Though, I dare say you're allowed to monopolize me as much as you like. ... Should you have want of me, you need only call."

Usagi felt another flush creep over her cheeks as he bowed with such gentlemanly decorum. She swept the shimmering silk of her gown into her fingers, so that she could return his bow with a deep curtsy of her own, blonde hair pooling about her on the floor as she lowered herself in respect, holding it for a beat, and then rising. Usagi found she had butterflies in her stomach... Maybe it was the way he released her, as if he didn't want to... How can I possibly be feeling this way? Someone handsome comes along, and then I just... Well, she had always been boy-crazy, and had been known to ogle even when with Mamoru, though she was just as prone to being jealous. Still, the attraction caught her off-guard. Maybe the champagne really was going to her head?
Her blush grew deeper, and clearly evident as he kissed her hand. Respectfully, but enough to send her heart racing. She was sure they were being watched very intently; she tried to control her body language, but it was probably written all over her features... She found him meeting her gaze, and then she lowered it, looking up at him shyly through her lashes. "I... I think I shall do that. Thank you," she whispered, stepping closer, speaking so that she was she was just inches from him. He was tall, nearly a foot taller than her, and she found that even with her head tilted upwards, she could just reach his jawline. "...for the dance. It was... magnificent." Usagi reluctantly pulled her hand from his, allowing it to brush along the length of his arm as she stepped by him, finding herself a little short of breath.
Focus. Find Mamoru. Her brain instructed her, and she attempted to head in his general direction, her gait slow and soulful. She couldn't help but smile to herself, even casting a long look over her shoulder at the dance partner she had left behind, before squaring her shoulders and heading over.

Alex watched after the Queen, trying to pretend that it hadn't effected him. Had it? It was definitely possible that it had. He tucked his hands behind him, touching his elbows, as he watched her walk away. Only after she glanced back at him did he turn his attention elsewhere. From his peripheral vision, he was able to see as many eyes upon him as were on the queen... but he didn't acknowledge them. To do so would be murder.
Instead, he moved to find the Ambassador, who would certainly be wanting to speak with him.
