"I don't even know you!" Rei replied in something of a yelp. And yet her own words proclaimed that she did. The memories and dreams she'd been trying so hard not to pay any mind to were coming back in full force now. She shoved them away--No, no, no, NO she didn't WANT to remember! Glaring at him accusingly, she frowned, "If you think you're going to talk your way out of this you have another thing coming."

"I know you to well. Talking never works with you. You'd just out shriek me anyway." His bright eyes turned darker as he watched her. Jadeite was becoming increasingly agitated. He was like a recently freed animal that had been caged for so very long. Now the only thing standing in his way was a human female, a ripe piece of meat.
How easily he could grab her, or even blast her. Perhaps besiege her mind with everything and anything he could possibly come up with. Why was she not remembering? What was stopping her from knowing who he was and who she was. And where in the hell was this Mamoru damnit!
He clucked his tongue a few times impatiently. "I cannot be made to wait forever. I waited long enough in that damn stone. I will not hurt you if you don't make me, but damnit woman you are trying what little patience I have right now." Those last words were snarled huskily as he made sure to stare her right in the eyes, willing..something.

"What stone?" Rei growled. He kept talking about some damn rock as if it was supposed to make any sense! She snorted at the idea that he could hurt her, and yet... the way he stared at her.
The priestess steeled her stance in the doorway. He was not going to get past her and loose into the palace if she could help it! Damn it, where the hell was Mamoru? Inwardly cursing her liege, she returned the intense glare of Jadeite point for point. Illusions flickered at the edge of her vision and Rei desperately continued to ignore them.
Behind her, the medics listened wide-eyed to the goings on.

She was either really stupid right now, or just too focused. Jadeite believed she knew about the stones, didn't all of them? "The 4 stones that Prince Endymion holds. Our souls, or half of them anyway, are trapped inside. We are his bodyguards and the ones he trusts." Yeah, like she would believe him. He didn't think that anything he said was going to be taken seriously right now. Which, thinking about it, made total sense, even if it was driving him absolutely batty!
"I wonder if the others are awake. I don't think so. They are still with him. I am being lax in my duties, and it is all your fault." Jadeite was very unhappy and he stalked a few steps closer to her. "You will explain to him why I am late, when and if we see him. I will not be remiss in my duties because you are distrustful."

Mamoru arrived at the shrine as quickly as his feet could take him across the palace. The closer he got, the more uneasy he began to feel. He was quite certain that something momentous had happened, but until he actually reached the room that Sailor Mars was in he wasn’t sure what it was. The moment he arrived behind the medics however, the voice he heard responding to Rei’s growled comment was one he knew very well.
Shoving past the medics with ease and coming to stand just behind Rei, Mamoru sternly said, “That will not be necessary Jadeite ...”
He had no clue as to how this could have happened, but now that it had he was very much aware of how dangerous this situation could become.

"Oh you're remise in your duties, all right," Rei sneered, "But it certainly wasn't me that caused you to be so!"
And then salvation in a purple tuxedo came shoving his way through the door behind her. Rei turned enough to see Mamoru in her peripheral vision and stepped slightly to the side. "Mamoru, is it true what he's saying?" Obvious he had come in time to hear the end of Jadeite's speech. Her mind was swimming and she could feel a massive headache on the horizon.

"Your highness." Seeing Prince Endymion, and being called by his proper name seemed to ease his agitation some. He dropped to one knee gracefully and made a sweeping motion with his right hand, head bowed and awaiting proper orders. It had been so long, and he himself had already missed being called the first time because he was so close to...this.
Mamoru? Was this the name he had been reborn with? He had many questions but all of them would wait. Perhaps the Prince would assuage Rei's mixed emotions about all of this and things would restart on a better track. Jadeite was still marginally worried at how it seemed the one who was his soul mate, was fighting off something in her own head. Did she no longer love him...was it all just on his end now? Considering how he had lived, perhaps he deserved it.

Mamoru nodded once toward Jadeite acknowledging his presence before turning his full attention to Rei. He knew very well that he had neglected to inform the senshi about the stones containing the four souls of the Shitennou. It was something that he hadn’t ever thought that they would need to know, something that was solely his and his alone. However, he had obviously been very mistaken.
“Jadeite is speaking the truth Rei. I have been in the possession of four stones containing the souls of the Shitennou, have been in contact with them occasionally. It is something that I never thought to share with anyone.”

"With them." She deadpanned, staring at the man before her. "Them. Four of our greatest enemies and you casually kept them on your bedside table?!" No matter that she was trying to control herself, her voice rose in decibel with each word. One hand pressed to her forehead, the woman reached behind her and slammed the doors to the shrine in the faces of the nosy medical staff. Now the three of them were alone... though she knew the staff was probably pressing their ears to the door even now.
Rei began to pace. "How did you not tell us about this, Mamoru? THIS," She jabbed a finger at Jadeite as she passed him, "Is important! We fought them--they tried to KILL us! Kill Usagi! How many times?"
The priestess whirled on them, voice level now but still shocked to her core she stared at the man who was to be her king. "How could you possibly do this? They are the enemy."

He stood back up and sighed rather heavily, stepping over toward his liege. "She truly does not seem to remember anything of her life before. Until then all I will be seen as is the enemy in her eyes." Jadeite stood tall, or as tall as he could (especially next to Mamoru), and proud while watching Rei pace back and forth and throw out angry and seemingly hurt questions.
"Did you ever stop, and maybe try and think for once...instead of just thinking that what you believe is everything, and pay attention to everything I have been telling you?" Of course his words were clipped and snappish, he was getting tired of her throwing accusations at him and calling him the enemy. It had been a horrible time for him to recollect, where he had been so controlled. But that was his rebirth then and he had no control over it.
"You Sailor Scouts, no you Princesses, are not the only special people. Your now Queen did happen to fall in love with a Prince, and he had special bodyguards just as she did." To him it was logical. If one had guards why wouldn't the other? But he was pretty sure the fiery priestess before him was not going to be so easily convinced.

“Yes, with them ...” Mamoru hadn’t told the senshi about his Shitennou, because he hadn’t felt like sharing something so personal with them. As far as he was concerned it really hadn’t had anything to do with any of them. “
Mamoru fell silent as Rei being to pace and Jadeite spoke up. He did understand why Rei was so very upset, she had been betrayed by and later having to kill the one she loved. He didn’t think Rei had very many memories of her past life and so most of her memories of Jadeite were probably concerning his servitude to Beryl.
However, Mamoru also did not appreciate being questioned in such a manner considering the fact that he was very much aware that every word being said in here was more then likely being listened to outside. He also was not particularly thrilled to have been reminded of all the times Usagi had nearly been killed on Beryl’s orders, especially considering he himself had also tried to kill her during that time.
When he spoke next, both his stance and the frosty yet commanding tone he used made it very clear that it wasn’t Mamoru speaking but instead Prince, soon to be King Endymion. It was also very clear that he was beginning to get angry.
“I am very much aware of what has happened in the past Rei. I was there and if you recall I suffered much the same fate that Jadeite and the others were forced to endure. I know how they have felt and I also know that they have atoned for whatever crimes they have committed. Furthermore, I do not need you to tell me how often Usagi has been in danger because of Beryl’s commands. I am very much aware of each and every time. I did not inform you about the Shitennou because it did not concern you or any of the senshi. I am not required to tell you about every thing that I do, nor am I required to inform you about the companions I choose to keep or whatever actions that I choose to take.”

Rei stopped midstep and stared at her 'liege.' The faintest of smiles lit itself upon her lips and she casually crossed her arms over her chest. For the longest time the senshi simply listened to him and watched. She didn't breath fire, she didn't scream, she didn't yell... but something in her clicked.
"Tell yourself that it didn't concern us all you like, Endymion," She replied finally, slowly. Her voice was pitched just enough so that they would hear it if they were quiet, but those outside the door would not, "Go ahead and tell yourself that I should trust him, and we should continue to trust you just because 'it didn't seem important at the time.' Because I'm certain that my sisters are going to accept so easily that the spirits of our enemies are being heralded as some form of repetant heros--and that we're supposed to just roll over and accept this because you tell us its true."
Rei shook her head, "I've had a lot of respect for you until this moment, Mamoru. Nor do I care if losing it bothers you; you're not married to the queen yet and as such I only follow your orders and command through that very respect. Get out of my shrine."
Those lavender eyes glanced briefly at Jadeite and she tacked on, "You as well. I don't care how much 'logic' or 'sense' it makes that Endymion had protectors or not. I don't remember them, I don't remember you, and no amount of flustering and huffing over it is going to change that. He's the one who chose not to enlighten us to this even though he knew damned well that our memories are incomplete. If you have an issue, take it up with your master."

Surprisingly he stayed rather calm about all this. Listening to her talk down to his liege and act a bit like a spoiled brat. The thought, and the image of her stomping her small feet was too much for him. Jadeite smirked, then snickered, then laughed out loud at just how silly she was being about all of this.
"When you are done running away from your past then perhaps you will see, and regret. Though, knowing you as I do...even if you regret you would never admit it. You have far too much pride to ever admit you could be wrong about something." His lips formed back rather easily into a smirk and he just shook his head. Obviously something was holding her back, maybe it was just her he couldn't be sure but he needed to state something just to see how she would react.
Bright blue eyes turned just as his body did, and he settled them on Mamoru. "Your Highness, shall we leave this place then? Since the Priestess has decided to throw you out so rudely, even though this entire Palace will soon be yours as well as the Queen's." Yes his back may be to Rei, but he was very aware of her every breath. Already prepared in case she decided to throw another temper tantrum.

Mamoru was immediately wary of the smile that Rei had directed toward him while he was speaking. He had expected her normally fiery temper to be directed his way, not this calm and quiet anger. He fell silent as she started speaking, seemingly indifferent to everything she was saying. As far as he was concerned, everything he had said a moment ago was true.
He still didn’t believe that he had done anything wrong by keeping the existence of the Shitennou to himself. Mamoru was vaguely irritated at the notion that he wasn’t trustworthy simply because he had decided to keep something to himself. Perhaps he should have told at least Usagi about them, but the fact remained that he hadn’t considered it necessary. It irritated him even more to hear the yet associated with him marrying Usagi.
Mamoru glanced over at Jadeite when he began laughing, somewhat surprised that he would find this funny. He personally did not find this funny in the slightest. However, as he listened to what the younger man was saying, Mamoru was able to calm down enough to be able to think about things sensibly. It wouldn’t do him any good to stand here arguing with Rei. The only purpose that would serve would be to cause an even nastier scene for the ones outside the door to view. Mamoru figured that if he chose to remain, Rei would have no qualms about attempting to do everything within her power to actually throw them out. He didn’t have any real desire to test that theory and so when Jadeite mentioned leaving, Mamoru nodded in agreement.
Mamoru glanced once more at Rei, his expression not once betraying the fact that it actually did bother him to think that he might have lost whatever respect she might have held for him. He was also somewhat saddened to think that he might have lost her friendship, not to mention the fact that the moment the other senshi were told they would undoubtably act in something of the same fashion. He kept all of this to himself however, his pride not allowing him to back down from whatever actions he had taken.
“I still stand by what I said earlier, I am not required to tell you anything of what I decide to do. If you can’t trust my words, then there isn’t really anything left to say.”
Mamoru turned his attention back to Jadeite, nodding in agreement to what he had said and replying, “You are right Jadeite, I have no reason to be here so it doesn’t matter if she wants to insist that I leave.”
He turned and headed for the door, easily acting as if Rei’s presence didn’t matter to him in the slightest. Mamoru didn't once look back to where Rei was standing, prefering instead to sweep out of the shrine with his dignity intact. When he reached the doors Mamoru allowed himself to take out his frustration on the people still standing around for the show by giving them his best intimidating glare so that they would move out of his way.
