Just the thought of Lucan's response was enough to tip Haruka back into a fit of laughter, though this time it was more silly giggling then outright guffawing. Her face flushed from the exertion. "I wonder if we should make it a grand affair. You know, make sure there are several other people around, so they can catch him and witness the spectacle."
"Oh, yeah we should inform Usagi of our plans. But really it does not matter which one we do first I don't think." Part of Haruka seethed at the idea that they had to get permission...sometimes she disliked that she couldn't just live her life the way she wanted to without having to worry about someone else's approval. Though this was her lot in life mostly, and Usagi was pretty lenient with the things they did, it was just the wild creature in 'Ruka that balked and fought.
Damnit, business stuff. She snarled quietly but listened to what her lover had to say. "I agree she did seem awfully stressed, but truth be told hun, I'm not exactly cut out for a more public face like you would be. I am a bit too harsh around the edges." That did cause her to grin and she ran one hand through her short hair, causing it to stick up in a few places. "I may do something, but it wouldn't be the same thing you did. Whatever I do will have to be behind the scenes."

She could feel Haruka's resentment at having to secure permission to do something that should be solely their choice, but such was not their lot in life. They were subject to the queen's whims at any and all times. They were just fortunate that their queen was also their friend and possessed of a very giving and lenient nature.
The sheet fell away completely from her body as Michiru climbed up to her knees to smooth down the wayward locks of her lover's hair, an amused smile curving her lips. She massaged Haruka's scalp lightly as she worked, and kept her tone of voice light.
"But that's what would make you so perfect for it Haruka. You are rough around the edges and give wonderful Serious Face. No one would doubt the queen if she had such obviously serious and sober supporters. But thank you for going in on this with me."
Both slender hands cupped Haruka's face and Michiru smiled lovingly down into those stormy blue eyes before kissing the blond woman soundly. "I love your wayward and rough nature, 'Ruka. And I think that when it comes time to the asking of Lucan, we should make sure there are as many of us women present as possible. Just to watch him struggle to keep his dignity and reply in a cordial manner."
Her smile widened to impish proportions as she looked at Haruka, her expression highly amused and very "don't you think so?" The switch to humor was more than a small consolation to her lover for raining on what little fun they had managed to scrape together tonight.

After Hotaru had gotten home, she'd made her way to her room to work on homework and other little things. She'd checked her e-mail, too, noting one of particular interest. The girl had found herself smiling as she read the charming little missive, imagining a rather fanciful scenario that led to her Queen deciding to have a letter scanned and e-mailed to the rest of them.
Not ten minutes later, after neatening up and securing her belongings where ought to be, she'd swept from her room on a mission. It was close to the time that Usagi wished them to all get together, and she really didn't want them to be late at all.
"Michiru-mama, Haruka-papa!" the girl chirped, printed paper copy firmly in hand. Making a beeline for their bedroom when she didn't see them about, she knocked as she called out, "Mama, Papa! Usagi-san sent us a letter! Did you get it, too?"
And the door, as doors often did when not quite latched securely, started to swing open.

"I know I am rather intimidating but I really don't want to just be that. Most people would only see me as this hulking she bitch, even though Rei takes the cake on the Bitch front." Haruka grinned at her lover and embraced her where they stood on the floor together. Both of their bodies now dry, the sweat having either dripped off or absorbed back into their skin by now.
Wait, that sounded like Hotaru's voice. 'Ruka looked around quickly, but realized it was too late to get fully dressed when she heard the door make a slight creak while the young girl was knocking. "Damnit," she hissed under her breath and made a mad grab for the blanket Michiru had been occupying only a short while ago.
"It isn't much love but its all we can do for the moment." Quickly she wrapped the blanket around the both of them, leaving most of their legs bare. Yes she knew Hotaru may have a clue what had been going on just a short bit ago, but at least the poor girl did not have to get an eyeful on top of that knowledge.
"Yes Firefly? Oh, a letter, no we were...busy spending some time together since we are usually apart lately." No details were needed and yet Haruka blushed so darkly it wasn't just on her face; her neck, ears and the tops of her shoulders got in on that as well.

There was no way to prevent the door from opening without giving their adopted daughter a more than unnecessary eyeful, and even as Haruka covered them adequately with the blanket, something flip flopped in her stomach at the very idea of Hotaru seeing this. Good or bad, Michiru couldn't tell yet, but it was there. She was definitely going to have to speak to maintenance about the locks.
Haruka's dark blush made it even more difficult to keep laughter out of her voice. It was a rare thing, but when it happened, it was quite a sight to see. Deeply amused aqua eyes brushed over that flaming face before turning and settling on the finally slowing door. It wasn't open completely, but more than enough to allow entrance for a curious thirteen year old.
"What letter are you talking about darling?"
Oh, there was something so inherently wrong in this, so why was she having so much trouble stifling her giggles?

"Usagi-san e-mailed an invitation, to all of us," the girl said, carefully peeking into the room around the ajar door. She hadn't quite grasped the inherent warning in Haruka's words, particularly when her mama sounded reasonably calm and curious.
That was, quite possibly, a good example of poor judgment in this case.
Juxtaposing the image of her parents, quite probably nude, with the explanation her papa had given her as to why they were unaware of their Queen's missive... Well, she was going to do what any child did when they ran across this situation.
Reflexive, immediate repression.
They were just spending time together, she decided quite firmly. There was nothing inherently traumatic in walking in on that situation, even if her papa's face was a red that seemed positively Christmas themed with Michiru-mama right next to her. On that note, the clothing-impaired senshi of Neptune seemed to appear quite amused by something.
Michiru-mama had been teasing Haruka-papa, clearly. Yes, that was exactly it.
Her face was a study in equal measures of careful incomprehension of the situation and polite aversion that made it seem as if her shoes were the most interesting thing in the room as she informed her parents, "She... wants everyone to meet with her at 1930. Ami-san wanted to share something..."
Quite prudently, she retreated even before she'd finished speaking.
The door securely latched this time.

(Sorry this took awhile, been having some home life issues Hun)
"Oh some kind of meeting huh? Looks like we need to locate some things and get there. Ahh...!" She went to say more to Hotaru but the young girl had quite quickly fled the room as fast as she had come in. How were they supposed to know where the meeting was? More then likely they were going to be awfully late as it were. Hopefully their little firefly would be going there right now, and if they hurried up...
"Michi, lets scramble. You get your clothing on and I will get mine and we will run like hell out of this room. If we are lucky we can catch up to Hotaru and all go to this meeting together. Fashionably late of course." Smirking while speaking, Haruka kissed her fiance hard and fast before letting her go, dropping the sheet and running about the room like a madwoman.
Articles of Michiru's clothing went flying in her general direction when they weren't what Ruka was looking for. Loud barking cries issued forth from her mouth as she practically tore her clothing trying to shove it back on her body.

Michiru recognized the look on Hotaru's face upon sight and had to stifle more laughter. It was not supposed to be amusing when you accidentally traumatized your adolescent daughter! She was there and gone again, muttering something to her shoes about a meeting.
More helpless laughter trickled out of the senshi as Haruka left her breathless with a kiss and then began to scramble around the room like she was still sixteen. Clothing came flying at her at indecent speeds, and she snatched up what looked like a dress before flinging herself out of the way.
"Oh Haruka, always so much easier to get your out of your pants than into them." Michiru shook her head, laughing as she watched the blond struggle into her clothing.
Shimmying into the lavender silk dress that she'd grabbed, Michiru straightened herself in a hurry before taking a moment to fluff her hair by hand and spritz on a little perfume. No sense showing up smelling like she'd just been thoroughly tumbled.
"'Ruka, incoming," she called again, tossing a bottle of cologne to her fiance. "I'll go and catch up with Hotaru." The words were followed by a blown kiss and the opening and closing of the door.
As soon as she was in the hallway Michiru called out her adopted daughter's name, looking first in the direction of the girl's bedroom. "Hotaru! Wait a moment!"

Hotaru obediently stopped her attempt at escape and waited, not that her fleeing had been with any particular enthusiasm. She'd been walking slowly as it was, intending on giving privacy to her parents while they got ready, and the quickness in which her adoptive mother caught up with her was fairly astounding.
Then again, this was an apparent summons from Usagi. Such was a situation that no one dallied in particular, if just out of the ever-abiding love they held for their Queen.
The young girl found herself smiling slightly at the thought, and in the short time she had fled it seemed that she'd quite thoroughly repressed any potential trauma that may have spawned from catching her parents in a compromising situation.
It was definitely healthier that way.
Holding out the printout of the handwritten missive for Michiru to take, the young girl noted even as she still couldn't quite make eye-contact, "Here's her letter."
She peeked around the other, adding curiously, "Haruka-papa's coming, too, right?"

Meh, she hated wearing fragrances of any kind usually, but this was a special time and it was more needed then it wasn't. She watched Michiru run out the door and slowed down her flurry of activity. This would give her a little more time to grab the proper clothing and make sure she smelled, well, decently. Quickly she spritzed on some of the cologne, making the icky face even if she enjoyed the smell.
This time she grabbed a pair of black formfitting slacks and mens white button down. The only two buttons she bothered buttoning were the ones right over her breasts, otherwise she left it alone. A hand ran through her short hair and then she slipped on a pair of ballet flats before exiting the room herself.
Haruka's head tilted to the side, listening for voices. Once she found the ones she was looking for she headed off in that direction. Coming up on the two of them just as Hotaru asked if she was going to be there.
"Here I am my darling Firefly, no worries. I just take a little longer because I hate dresses." Her mouth quirked into a huge grin and she ruffled Hotaru's hair affectionately. "Shall we be going then?"

"Of course love," she said while taking the printed missive and reading it. "See?" One graceful hand gestured at Haruka as she came sauntering up just as Michiru answered the question.
"It seems that Ami has something to share with the rest of us and Usagi wants to see us." The violinist put emphasis on their queen's name to let the other woman know that it was going to be an informal gathering.
Michiru looked the young girl over out of pure reflex, checking for any discomfort in their presence or any curiosity. Seeing none, she just let the whole topic slide itself under the rug, never to be seen again unless forcibly summoned by teenage curiosity.
"You should be proud of me. I was ready before Haruka was this time, Hotaru. I think that was the fastest I've ever gotten ready for anything. Well, come on. Let's get going before we're any later."
(Did you guys want to stop this here and move on into the Hanging Out thread or do a few more posts?)
